When we think of tourism, probably we think of enjoying on a beach or exploring famous attractions in a foreign city. But, there’s is now another kind of tourism that people are talking about , one that has vacation and health rolled in together -dental tourism.
Dental tourists travel to foreign countries to seek dental care. Here’s what you need to know about this phenomenon.
There are many countries that are advertised as dental destinations for medical tourists like dental tourists. These countries include Mexico, Argentina, Malaysia ,Thailand and of course! India . In India one of the most famous and reliable names is Partha Dental , where you can not only get healthy but even go on a vacation and sight seeing included in their packages.
Reasons for Dental Tourism
Low cost -Dental tourists travel for low-cost dental care. Dental care in developed countries like the United States and Canada can be very expensive. Tourists seek care in less developed countries to save money.
Good technology- With globalisation , world class technologies are available at a much lesser price in less developed regions. Labor and real estate also costs less in these regions, so dentists may have lower costs and malpractice insurance is also less expensive. This makes it cheaper
Currency exchange rates – Woth the dollar being stronger , it is cheaper to come to India for dental needs . Beware!
While dental care costs less in dental tourism destinations, that doesn’t mean traveling for care is a good idea. There are many things you must research before traveling for dental care.
Dental standards are a potential issue for tourists. Standards for foreign dentists and foreign dental practices should be same as in say, United States. For example, infection control standards should be world class .
Make sure to ask If dentists will reuse gloves or injection needles, which puts patients at risk and what standards are being maintained .
Ask for case studies and real pictures .
Language barriers are another potential issue, so converse regularly before you go. In India, that is not an issue as everyone speaks English !
Continuity of care is another concern. If you receive dental care in another country, the foreign dentist may not know your patient history. When you return, your own dentist may not know what treatment you received or why it was performed.
For a proper treatment keep both of them in the loop!
But, all in all dental tourism is one of the best in India and Partha dental being a forerunner in that !
What you eat affects your entire body from the top of your hair to the end of your toe! The foods you choose and how often you eat them affects your immunity, mood and of course, the health of your teeth and gums, too. If you consume too many sugar-filled sodas, sweetened fruit drinks or non-nutritious snacks, you could be at risk for tooth decay.
Tooth decay is actually the single most common chronic childhood disease, but the good news is that it is entirely preventable with good nutrition, high calcium diet, fresh fruits and veggies and low sugar .
Tooth decay happens when plaque come into contact with sugar in the mouth, causing acid to attack the teeth. Foods that contain sugars of any kind can contribute to tooth decay. To control the amount of sugar you eat, read the nutrition facts and ingredient labels on foods and beverages and choose options that are lowest in sugar. Common sources of sugar in the diet include biscuits, pastries, soft drinks, candy, cookies and chocolates. Your physician or a registered dietitian can also provide suggestions for eating a nutritious diet. If your diet lacks certain nutrients, it may be more difficult for tissues in your mouth to resist infection. This may contribute to gum disease. Severe gum disease is a major cause of tooth loss in adults in India.
Many dentists believe that the disease progresses faster and is potentially more severe in people with poor nutrition and bad eating habits .

Some well known good food choices are –
1. For healthy living and for healthy teeth and gums, think before you eat and drink. It’s not only what you eat but when you eat that can affect your dental health. Eat a balanced diet and limit between-meal snacks. If you are on a special diet, keep your physician’s advice in mind when choosing foods. 2. For good dental health, keep these tips in mind when choosing your meals and snacks: * Drink plenty of water. * Eat a variety of foods from each of the five major food groups, including: * whole grains * fruits * vegetables * lean sources of protein such as lean beef, skinless poultry and fish; dry beans, peas and other nuts like walnuts, Pune nuts , almonds. * low-fat and fat-free dairy foods without sugar . 3. Limit the number of snacks you eat. If you do snack, choose something that is healthy like fruit or vegetables or a piece of cheese. Foods that are eaten as part of a meal cause less harm to teeth than eating lots of snacks throughout the day, because more saliva is released during a meal. Saliva helps wash foods from the mouth and lessens the effects of acids, which can harm teeth and cause cavities.
4. Avoid sugary drinks , fruit drinks that are packaged and sticky candies . 5. For good dental health, always remember to brush twice a day with fluoride toothpaste that has the Indian Dental Association Seal of Acceptance, floss daily and visit your dentist regularly. With regular dental care, your dentist can help prevent oral problems from occurring in the first place and catch those that do occur in the early stages, while they are easy to treat. Have you been wondering what the fuss is all about when it comes to PRP, or platelet rich plasma face treatments ? Well, here is the lowdown on it !
PRP, is a great cosmetic injectable treatment for naturally rejuvenating the skin and hair repairing the signs of ageing.

PRP stimulates collagen and elastin production in your skin which thickens and tightens thinning skin, effectively smoothing wrinkles and fine lines. 3.IT’S A NATURAL TYPE OF COSMETIC INJECTABLE
PRP uses your own natural elements without the addition of any foreign products. It is your own blood plasma that is used to enhance your skin texture and tone.
The treatment works by drawing a small sample of your blood, which is then spun in a centrifuge for approximately five minutes to separate the plasma from the other blood particles. The platelet rich plasma is then reinjected back into the treatment area to stimulate collagen and elastin production.
4.IT’S VERY EFFECTIVE AND SAFE
PRP uses your own natural elements , your own blood plasma so it is very safe and effective ! PRP is highly recommended treatment for all ages . It’s also not a new treatment. It’s long been recognised and used in the hospital system and in sports medicine for its effective wound healing properties since the late 70’s , only now cosmetologists are using it for fave and hair rejuvenation.

Cavities can best be described as the worst form of tooth decay. As we all know by now that tooth decay is caused – by what we eat, -how we take care of our teeth, -and the amount of fluoride in our toothpastes.
If your family has a history of tooth disease or teeth problems, then you may inherit it that way but good oral hygiene can save you from it . This is very common, as many people inherit tooth problems that have been passed down from generation to generation but by taking good care of their teeth from childhood itself , they overcome any such problems !
2. Adults who suffer from a dry mouth are more at risk for cavities, as they have a lack of saliva in their mouth. Dry mouth is very common disorder that can be caused by hormonal imbalance , mouth disease or even as a side effect of some medications, illness, and radiation treatment. Tobacco users will also suffer from dry mouth, as the tobacco will use up the saliva in the mouth and leave the user with nothing to keep his or her mouth moist. This causes them to develop cavities and tooth decay .
3. Cavities are a very serious situation, and if left untreated, can result in the destruction of the tooth. This can also destroy the nerves as well, resulting in an abscess. An abscess is very serious, as it infects the root tip. If left untreated, an abscess can result in a heart ache as what happened with a man in UK last year . 4. Although you may not realize it, cavities are a very serious matter that can quickly spread to something even more serious if not checked and treated. 5. If you notice a color change or a blackened area in your tooth, you should make an appointment with the best dentist in your city immediately as it might be the beginning of tooth decay.
If you visit your dentist on a regular basis, he will check for cavities and treat you but without visiting the dentist, it is impossible to tell whether or not you have a cavity.
Most cavities develop below the gums, and you won’t be able to see them. If the cavity exists in the tooth, you will be able to see it, as it will change the color of the affected area.
What you eat is a big contributor to cavities. – If you eat a lot of sweets or – drink a lot of soda, sweet tea and coffee you will be at a higher risk for cavities. – Foods that are rich in sugar or starch are eaten by bacteria found in plaque, which will produce acids that eat through teeth. This acid is very harmful to teeth, as it can eat through the dentin and enamel in no time at all. If you don’t do something about it, the acid will continue to eat at the tooth until there is nothing left to say – leaving you no choice but to get the tooth extracted.
Over time, the tooth enamel will start to break down beneath the surface of your tooth, even though the surface will appear to be fine.
Once the acid has managed to eat away enough of the enamel below the surface, the surface will collapse, which results in a cavity.
After this has happened, if you don’t get it treated, the tooth will continue to be eaten and the cavity will continue to spread until all of the tooth has been eaten, after which the enamel will be gone and your root will be exposed – which can be very painful.
Cavities will more than likely develop in the pits of chewing areas around the back teeth, between your teeth, or near the gum line. No matter where they occur, the easiest way to spot them is to visit your dentist. Your dentist will be able to do x-rays and find out just how bad they are and tell you what options you have. If you visit him in time, he will be able to save the tooth and stop the cavity before it spreads throughout your tooth.
Beware cavities are indeed dark holes to pain and decay , prevent them !
